McBride Gallery was established in 1980 near Annapolis' historic City Dock. In 1990 the gallery moved to larger quarters in one of the oldest buildings on upper Main Street. The land was originally owned by William Paca, a Maryland signer of the Declaration of Independence. The gallery has maintained the colonial character of the Georgian styled home with three of the original fireplaces.

Most of the Artwork in this Gallery is traditional style realism. The gallery is not well-organized even though the artwork it contains is high quality artwork. Prints are mixed with the Original Paintings and some Paintings are on the floor instead of nicely hung up. Each time I have visited with my friends, the reception we got was not very welcoming. This gallery has a super potential if the owners get someone competent and get each room organized by the artists they are representing.
