Ann Arbor Arms (A3) is a family owned business that was created out of the enthusiasm and passion for shooting sports, coupled with the love and concern for protection and wellbeing of friends and family. Although Ann Arbor Arms retail focus is far removed from the industries which my wife, Holli, and I have focused on in our careers, the core of the store and its mission is at the heart of what we have always followed and believed: Have access to high quality products for the everyday person to ensure the safety and security of their family and friends. Our times living and raising a family in south Florida led to the attention to preparation and protection as we repeatedly prepared for hurricane season and the challenges it brings to that region. Following the tragic events of Sept. 11th, as I was separated from family while on business in the Northeast, it became glaringly obvious that our family had to have a plan for such unseen events, and that God forbid something happen tragic again, the US infrastructure and our dependence on technology could become crippling and disallow our continued sense of security. Once moving to Michigan we finally found a place, unexpectedly, that offered a sense of community and excellent friends with shared values we had not readily felt in other locations. However, access to defense and preparedness supplies cannot be easily found, and those other places we went locally often lacked in what we felt was a comfortable environment, a welcoming place to discuss common concerns without feeling like being viewed as “alarmists”, or failed to provide access to high quality products we could touch, feel and ask questions about with a live person. While I and other avid shooters may know what I’m looking for, or a law enforcement officer knows what they need, we also wanted to establish a place for those who don’t know, but can be comfortable in asking someone just like them…the average citizen. Women who want to learn more about personal defense (lethal and non-lethal), families who want to prepare but have no idea where to start, or the person that wants to just get a little more “serious” about their preparedness and personal defense options. Whether it’s a global financial crisis, solar flares, the end of the Mayan calendar, earthquake fault lines, a global pandemic, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornados, or zombies, A-Z, we want to offer you and your family the best products to help your chances of survival. Or, if you’re just worried about raising crime rates, losing power during an average snowstorm, driving into a ditch and having to walk home, or gearing up for an average outdoor adventure we want to help provide the best products to help you protect yourself and your family from harm. Education is the best way to ensure a prepared society, so A3 also offers a wide variety for courses, from basic gun information to emergency medical care. We look forward to serving you and providing the best customer service possible, and if there is something you feel you need to protect or prepare that we don’t have, let us know and we will try and find it for you. No one can ever anticipate all needs alone, some come on in to Ann Arbor Arms and let’s help prepare together. Sincerely, Bill and Holli Pinon

This is a top notch range and self-defense store. They have many brands and varied models. They are also a transfer agent in case you purchase online. I don't know how others that gave 1 star could have had such a bad experience. I have been going here for my own self-defense training for many months now and have never had a bad experience. Some of the associates are less touchy feely than others. They have always been very helpful with my buying decisions. They are not like other fire arm dealers that jump you once you enter the store. They give you space to browse but will very easily assist when you're ready with questions or want to purchase. Their on-staff gunsmith has saved my bacon multiple times and I've yet to receive any sort of bill for his services. As far as I know they all carry within the store. I know that they all possess a high degree of shooting proficiency and am very comfortable in this environment. I have taken multiple classes and lessons from multiple team members. All were very professional and provided very useful feedback. The ranges are stellar and easy to schedule. I am a member and find the benefits of membership far exceed the price of admission. They provide a variety of hand guns and rifles to rent if you want to experience a different shooting experience. The only thing I can give any negative comment about is the fact that the ranges are not air conditioned. July and August days can be uncomfortable when the temp outside hovers at or about 90 degrees. Otherwise they prove to me on each visit that I made a good choice becoming a member. Otherwise the facility is stellar, their prices seem reasonable and I very much enjoy interacting with all the team members.

Asked a worker about a walther hand gun. Had no idea what a walther was. Was very snobby. I would never recommend this place. I rather try to have Dunham transfer me firearms.

Ann Arbor Arms is a welcomed addition to the area. I have been in this great store many times and have always been treated with respect and courtesy. They have all the modern firearms one could want (and I have purchased several of them. ) I recommend this business to everyone I know might be interested in firearms, training or equipment.

I have been here several times...

I have been here several times since they opened, and I love this place!!! I have recently got back in to shooting after about 10 years of not owning a single firearm. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. I was bouncing around the state trying to find a gun store that didn't make me feel like a criminal or beginner. And A3 hit it on the head!! I have picked up a Mossberg 500 tactical shootgun an AR-15 that was custom built by A3 and I picked up a Smith & Wesson Performance Center 1911($200 cheaper then the msrp by the way). They have a full line of hand guns in all price ranges and calibers. You have a customer for life right here!!!! Thanks Ann Arbor Arms!!!!

Worst gun shop ever!

I've gone there twice now and both times there were three people behind the counter and I got no help. The first time there were a couple other customers so I let it go. The second time it was only me and one other customer. One employee helped him while I stood at the counter for 15 minutes while the other two employees debated on where to hang a gun on the wall behind the counter. Finally as I was walking out they shouted , " can I help you?". Nope, and I'll not be coming back. The reason people go to a local shop instead of online is customer service. I recommend you go online and save the cash. This place is a waste of time.

If i could give them less then...

If i could give them less then one star i would. I went in their today looking for a few items and it took 15 min for anyone to say a word to me. then the young man with a long beard wearing a red john glenn hoodie kept correcting everything i said in a rude manor. I asked for a XDM .45 clip his response was "its not a clip" I said im sorry magazine. he said "they are right behind you" so i went and looked AGAIN and still didnt see my "clip" and asked again TWICE for him to show them to me cause i didnt see them before he finally rolled his eyes and came from behind the counter. so as he was looking for the item i asked about he realized they didnt have it. I said "no problem ill try and order one online" he says "good luck" and walked away from me. i will NEVER buy anything from this store and have already told my gun freak friends to steer clear of this place.

This is a great new firearms shop! They still have that "new car smell" but they are getting more experienced every day. The refreshing thing? Friendly people, clean store, coffee, and a helpful attitude on the part of every salesperson. I like it!
