Our gmc truck started running bad and shifting into neutral while going down the road. we were referred to Slawson Transmission. We had it towed there. We were told it would be 5 to 8 days. After a few days he tells us it’s not the transmission but our transfer case was messed up and driveshaft needed a longer one.was told he would try to do just the back for $700 but if it needed a whole thing it would be $1300. He said he doesn’t do driveshafts and we have had that same driveshaft for over 2 years and has never had a problem with it being too short so we’re like if the transfer case is the problem then fix it and the driveshaft should be fine since it’s never been a problem. After 2 weeks we he says they are just now getting it on a lift!!He says it needs the entire transfer case and would be $1500.We said fine since we just needed it fixed and back! 2 days later he calls us to come pick up on June 5! He said he doesn’t recommend driving it since the driveshaft is short which we have been driving it like that with no problems for years.A few minutes later it starts doing the same thing again. I call them to let him know and he says it’s because it needs the longer driveshaft! Which is ridiculous bc it’s never been a problem. It’s always been shorter and never affected the driving or shifting. He tells us to put a driveshaft in it and it will fix it.the next day we buy a driveshaft and surprise didn’t fix the truck still does the same thing. We were baffled as to what the problem could be.So we call him and ask if he replaced the speed sensor and was told yes but with a used sensor. Since it was used we replaced it with a new sensor and the truck drives perfect. After calling him he belittled us saying we like acting big and bad on the phone but needed to face him man to man! Not very professional when all i wanted was a refund for fixing things that wasn’t the problem and costing us $1500! He told us he would only give us $50 for the sensor that he says he replaced.
