Not in touch with what customers want! Really rainy, stormy day with high winds and swells but refused to reschedule fishing trip and would not refund when all other companies cancelled trips for the day. Loaded up on Dramamine and went anyway. It was very rough and got completely soaked and cold but caught 3 salmon - the biggest catch of my life! So, as I'm reeling it in, I tell my husband to go get the camera. The captain says, "Forget about the pictures - just get the fish in the boat." OK fine - so I get it in the boat and he gets it off the hook and throws it in a bucket. By that time my husband is ready with the camera and I ask if we can take a picture. The captain says, "No time for that now - you can do that later." So I catch 2 more biggies and was the winner of the day for most salmon caught. We head back to the marina and everyone is cold, wet and exhausted. I'm wondering if I will take a picture with all 3 fish and how will I hold them all or one at a time, the whole way back in. We finally start walking to the back of the boat and we are handed our fish already filleted and in a bag. :-( NO pictures of my big catch. It would have taken all of 5 seconds earlier when I caught them but was put off twice and not allowed to take a picture. Now I have no pictures of the biggest catch of my life. RIDICULOUS!!! I was so angry I couldn't even talk - just walked off the boat. If you are taking people on fishing trips you should have enough sense to realize they want to record their experience with pictures. Thanks for making what could have been one of our best Alaskan experiences one of our worst.

Fantastic!

My boyfriend and I went on a 6 hour salmon charter yesterday morning with the Seward Fishing Club and I cannot say enough good things about our experience. The boat was clean and comfortable and the captain and crew were fantastic. The deck hands taught several children on the boat how to fish and one girl caught her limit right away. The deck hands were attentive and courteous. As soon as someone yelled, "fish on" they or the captain grabbed a net and helped get the fish in the boat. Every fish was properly tagged according to whose it was and beautifully filleted. We will definitely be fishing with these guys again! FISH ON!

Wow were to start... I have b...

Wow were to start... I have been in Alaska 50 years... This was by far the worst charter I have ever bought... I truly feel sorry for the out of state visitors that were on this charter service. Out of 22 people on a half day silver salmon charter, we only caught about 10 fish, none were salmon, most were DINKY rockfish, or inedible razor tooth flounder, (bottom fish I might add, not the mid water table species we were targeting) most of the people on the boat did not catch anything. We passed by several areas with multiple boats fishing successfully and seeing silver salmon jumping at the surface, only to keep on motoring out further and further. We were wondering if this was to be a sight seeing trip or a fishing trip. When the captain did slow down it was only to circle for 40 or so minutes while we were all standing by poles waiting. We were on a 7 hour trip and maybe had our lines wet for 1 hour maybe an hour and fifteen minutes. One of the alleged "Deck Hands" was a girl that was busier massaging the other crew members and never touched a piece of bait. But we were asked to tip her. When one of the other hands tried to teach her how to properly pick up a yellow eye by the gill, she screamed and jumped away from the fish well. She obviously never had touched a fish ever!!! I can't even scratch the surface here, it was awful. The owner needs to leave Anchorage and check in on his boat and see what is happening to his business, and speaking of the owner he could be a whole lot better on the phone and quit sounding like he is being bothered by taking your reservation. Sorely disappointed by this charter service and will never go out with them and will warn anyone to avoid this fishing service.

The boat crew were very nice but unfortunately their niceness does not make up for the dishonest business practices of the company owner. We paid very good money for a salmon fishing charter and caught 1 small fish. Why? Because the salmon were not in the bay yet. Most on the boat were disappointed and felt like we did. We are from out of state and trusted the fishing company to know about the fishing. I believe an honest business would not book 'salmon' charters when they know the fish are not in the bay. The crew knew this say 'you all are about 1.5 weeks early but the boat ride will be fun.' When I talked with them about why the company would book 'salmon' charters at this time one crew member stated, 'if the boat only went out when the fish were running they would make as much money.' We Seward Fishing Club owners you are dishonest. My husband and I did not enjoy our $300 fishing trip. Had you been honest we would have put the money towards a halibut charter and gone further out into the sea. I do not recommend this company because they are not honest. Two thumbs down for this company. Buyer beware don't trust the fishing charter companies. Know what fish is where and when.
