Orin Seybert founded Peninsula Airways in 1955. He was 19 years old, living in Pilot Point, Alaska and owned a 1946 two-seat Taylorcraft. In November 1991, Peninsula Airways began doing business as PenAir and became a code-share and mileage plan partner with Alaska Airlines. All Alaska Airlines flight numbers 4200 4399 are operated by PenAir. PenAir is one of the largest commuter airlines in Alaska, providing scheduled service to 36 communities throughout southwest Alaska. In addition to scheduled passenger service, PenAir provides cargo shipping, small package express, mail delivery and charter service throughout Alaska, Canada and the United States. PenAir operates has a fleet of nearly 40 aircraft.
