I usually don’t write reviews, but passing thru Aliquippa on my way back to Ohio, I stopped at Glatz Jewelers, as I needed a gift for a family member. I found the store to be a real gem. The range of items was exceptionable. The place was well stocked and diverse, with very affordable to high-end items. The staff was knowledgeable and not overbearing. I made an offer on an item and to my surprise the gentleman who was helping me, deferred to the owner who was in a back room, and my price was accepted. That was a first, and I’m sure we were both happy. I ended up with something for myself, too. A pair of much needed earrings. Fortunately, Mr Glatz, had the wherewithal to ask me if I slept with them on, and guided me to a pair that was more durable, and comfortable, during sleep. There were signs of community and family involvement in the shop, and I found that to be reassuring and charming.

In an age of national chains, it was nice to discover Glatz Jewelers; a family owned company. I was greeted upon entering the store and people were actually smiling. The store was very active. I needed to get a piece of jewelry repaired and Tom (Glatz) was extremely knowledgable, professional, creative and talented. We talked about using the same stone but he also made suggestions to try others as well. He excused himself and came back with a box. He told me that he had purchased this stone years ago and had not had an opportunity to utilize it in a design. It was a beautiful piece of Amber and proved to be a perfect replacement for my damaged stone. He called to tell me that it was finished. He made an additional suggestion of beveling the stone to enhance the design as well as allow more light to refract through the stone. I would not hesitate recommending Glatz Jewelers to anyone looking for expert, personalized and creative service.

I took 2 pieces of jewelry into his business to possibly sell. I got a quote in writing and needed a few minutes to think about it. I went out to my car to call a friend who has more knowledge than me and she said yes to one items quote and definately not to the other. So I went back in and was told no that quote isn't true and they would not give me that number. I was shocked to hear such deceptive practices and told if I gave a negative review online he would sue me. I review all businesses good or bad and this was horrible. . I would recommend to go somewhere else that writes down a quote and honors it when it comes time to pay it. Tom was the man who threatened me about sueing me if I put my real experience online. I will never be bullied into helping others avoid being ripped off!!! Shame on him to try and rip off someone.

I bought my wife's wedding rings at this store, but ever since I got them we have had nothing but problems, in 2yrs I have had to take her rings back cause they keep turning colors, Every time I take the rings in to get fixed, I am told that there will be no charge, but when I go to pick up the rings there is aways a charge. Also the wedding band it self was never sized even though I have paid for it, and asked them to size it every time I take the rings back

I have been told that I will get a phone call from the owner so he can explain to me why this happens, but in 2yrs i have never received a phone call.

This last time, they didn't even last a week.

I will never tell anyone to shop at this store. They are also the rudest people, I mean the 2 owners, nothing against the worker's.
