A henna party with Shabnam is a wonderful way to take the time and honor our pregnant selves and changing bodies! Two of my friends and I were all in different stages of our pregnancy. One friend was 36 weeks, the other 27 weeks and I only 17 weeks. Shabnam came to my house and we spent the afternoon listening to music and chatting while she decorated our pregnant bellies.

For me, just having survived the first trimester with plenty to complain about. It was extremely rejuvenating to take the time and honor this amazing change that is taking place. Now, I can't stop staring at my beautifully decorated belly and it is such a sweet sensation!!



Shabnam is an amazing and intuitive artist! Her peaceful demeanor really set the tone for a relaxing and restorative afternoon. I am hooked on her designs and I can't wait to be a few more months farther along to get another design!!!

Unnati is a true artist! She did my mehndi for my engagement party, and I have never been so pleased! She has the most unique designs, a very easygoing and friendly personality, and she was able to do exactly what I asked.. the result was even better than I could have imagined!



I wanted my mehndi to look more intricate and festive than my guests, but I didn't want it to be as filled-in or "heavy" as bridal mehndi for an actual wedding, so I explained that to her over the phone and when I first got there. She showed me her designs, and we had a brief discussion about some patterns I liked.. and that was it! I was impressed within the first few minutes of the application.



She also told me that she gets her own henna powder from India, makes her own cones so she has the exact control she needs, and only adds eucalyptus oil to the henna mixture (NO CHEMICALS!) so it's not harmful to the skin. Also, the next day (the day of my engagement party), the mehdni was a beautiful dark maroonish-red/brown color. THE most beautiful, richest, darkest mehndi color I've ever had.



Everyone at the engagement party was really impressed and wants to get their mehndi done by her for my wedding day. When my parents saw it, they also immediately requested that I book her for my wedding. As soon as I set my wedding date, I'm giving her a call!



Side note: I must be honest and say that I almost didn't want to write a review because I selfishly want to keep her all to myself. She's actually really booked throughout the year (she showed me her calendar when I was telling her about wedding dates), so contact her ASAP and preferably well in advance if you want your mehndi done by her. She's simply amazing. You will NOT be disappointed!

I cannot even begin to explain how amazing my Henna experience was. Two friends and I, spur of the moment decided to get henna tattoos one evening. There couldn't have been a better decision. Shabnam is so nice and was able to find a way to match each of our personality to the henna tattoo--truly a rare quality. A day has not passed, without me receiving tons of complements about my henna. Also, the henna still looked fresh one week later. I have had a few henna tattoos done before, and nothing even comes close to my experience here.
