Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, Jackson 20 is at once elegant and casually comfortable, contemporary and rooted in tradition. Our namesake, President Andrew Jackson, was legendary for his hospitable nature - he was the first U.S. president to invite the public to attend the inaugural ball. True to this spirit, Jackson 20 is a convivial and popular gathering place. Here you'll find a welcoming atmosphere and fresh, inspired American regional cuisine. Inaugurating a New Era in Dining Named for U.S. President Andrew Jackson and his visage on the $20 bill, we honor our namesake by providing affordable food and drink in a social environment. If the "man of the people" were here today, we think he would appreciate our strong, innovative and hospitable attitude. Jackson 20 is an American Tavern that evokes the rich history of our location with modern sensibilities and a pioneering approach. Communal tables and a view to the kitchen add to the bustling town-center atmosphere. Regional dishes are prepared with traditional wood-fire cooking methods and fresh, local ingredients that vary with the seasons. The stage is set from the moment you arrive. You are greeted by both a warm welcome and a giant bronze pig. As with many Colonial-era taverns and inns, this iconic bronze statue presides over the room as a symbol of hospitality and abundance. The pig, President Jackson's favorite animal, appears as a motif at your table as well, in the form of whimsical, pig-shaped napkin rings. But this light-hearted nod to our namesake does not belie our sincere focus on excellent food and drink. At Jackson 20, our sense of place is primary and contemporary classics abound.

The cuisine here is simply fantastic. I feel that they have taken swine to a new level.

During the warmer months they have specialty outdoor events like Pig-a-Palooza... Outstanding food, atmosphere, and a live band!

I went to my first Pigs-n-Pinot specialty dinner. It was expensive at over $100 a head including the tip. However i will go again as it was a very decadently good time.

I adore this restaurant

From the warm greeting that we received when we arrived, to the exceptional service we received throughout our stay, Id say that Jackson 20 is one of Old Town Alexandrias shining stars. This place exudes charm. The huge sculpture (I wont spoil the suprise) that greets you when you enter from the street adds an instant dose of charm, which is carried throughout by subtle historic nuances. Still though, Jackson 20 maitains a comfy modern feel, not unlike the menu. I had the Spinach Salad, and instantaneously fell in love. My partner opted for the Chicken Fried Steak, and I was happy to help myself when she took a quick "tour" of the facilities. Shes lucky she came back to any food at all. Alas, I refrained from finishing her meal, but will defiately return for my own CFS. One quick note. Save room for dessert. The Bread Pudding is to die for!

A well publicized restaurant located in the new Hotel Monaco on King Street. The fare is American and the portions are standard. Drink prices are a little on the steep side and don't be surprised if your wine glasses are not filled to the half. The bisque soup is wonderful, the salmon was undercooked and was returned fine but the crowning glory to this restaurant would be the sweet potato bread pudding...yum!
