Dr. James Parrish graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans with Honors. He continued his education at Louisiana State in their Residency program and which concluded in 1996. In 2003, Dr. Parrish completed the Fundamentals of Bariatric Surgery. In 2008, he completed the Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band Program (Allergan) in Memphis, TN. A year later, Dr. Parrish completed the Bariatric Mini Fellowship at the University of Texas-Southwestern in Dallas Texas. During the same year, he completed the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy Preceptorship. In 2010, Dr. Parrish completed the Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band Program (Ethicon). Dr. James Parrish is the Medical Directory of Bariatric Surgery at Center Louisiana Surgical Hospital and Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital. He is also a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the Southeastern Surgical Congress. He is the President of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Additionally, he is the Executive Board Member and Past President of the Rapides Parish Medical Society.
