Very very very good... Been to this sushi grill and bar many times now.... It is FRESH FISH .... limited on the sake ...but amazing grill items as well. So I do not know why it does not rank higher for others. The sushi chef is Japanese.... and if you have been to Japan you will appreciate what I am saying

I could eat here everyday! I love sushi, have been to a lot of different sushi houses in Albuquerque and Samurai is the best by far! I moved here from CA and thought I'd never find fresh fish in the desert. The service is great, love sitting at the bar and watching the chefs create art with food. A fun place to bring a date! I haven't tried the grill yet but I will soon. Thanks Samurai, you're great

Great sushi... Consistent and fun!

This use to be our favorite Japanese restaurant. We went their on October 14, 2010 to celebrate two birthdays in the family. The cook was new and had no clue what he was doing. The food was terrible and the cooking performance sucked. I tried to talk to the owner about how everyone at our table food was missing key ingredients or cooked very different from past visits. The owner did nothing to correct the situation, but instead yelled at the clearly untrained cook. This did help our situation one bit. The whole evening turned out to be a bust. We will no longer consider Samurai in our dinning choices, especially for special occasions such as a birthday. The owner’s attitude was if we should just pay our bill and move along. News to the owner, you just lost a faithful group of customers who have been eating at Samurai since they opened 10 years prior.
