I've been a customer of Kenco for 13 years and really loved the service until my last visit. Be careful what you bring in to show them for replacing parts because I was told a replacement wouldn't work for an AC line and that an entire replacement of the line was necessary. Taking the advice costed a $100 visit in charges when the plumber came out and replaced the $3 part like I was planning to. When I addressed this with the Manager Joe he was unapologetic and insisting his advice was good even though it turned out incorrect. Now I'm replacing the whole system and not ever going back to Kenco, in addition to letting everyone I know about this. If only he had been a little nicer, but hey, he's the boss right?

(This review is for the Kenco plumbing service, unrelated to retail sales.)

Tub/shower valve replacement job was the worst customer experience I've ever had.

I took off work to meet the plumber at my house five times (once for $900+ quote, once for the original job, back due to forgotten joint without ***any*** solder, then back out twice more for leaks after that two separate days). The new valve's joints were still leaking in two completely separate places. I couldn't afford to keep taking off work for Joe to practice his plumbing, so I watched a few YouTube videos, dropped $120 at Lowe’s, and did it myself. Bear in mind, all of this was only possible because I had cut my own hole in drywall to inspect the work after Joe left; otherwise Joe's solder joints would still be leaking in my wall today, causing all kinds of more permanent and expensive damage!

Went to the Kenco owner, Ray, several months later with this story and a sample of Joe's work in hand (pictures still available). Ray disavowed all responsibility to right the situation since I had taken the faulty joint out myself, and felt no need to refund a single penny.

So, if you are considering a Kenco plumbing service job, make sure you have 1) your own hole in the wall to inspect the joint after the plumber leaves, 2) a free schedule with no competing responsibilities, 3) the skills to do it yourself, and 4) the budget to mend their errors without any support from Kenco ownership/management.

Or, you know, you could use someone else. I know I will next time.

bad bad customer service, the short guy at the counter is a very rude person. They don't want to be bothered by walk in service.

Never have I been subjected to a more hostile, unfriendly store. From tall skinny guy at the counter to the owner (Ken). Ken was actually all red faced, in my face screaming at me. The original problem was over the fact that I didn't know for sure what I needed to fix a faucet. Tall skinny guy seemed to be annoyed that I was even in there. Had such an attitude I finally called him on it. "Why do you have such an attitude towards me" I asked. He said "you come in here and don't know what you have or what you need. I can't help you." It got pretty ugly from there when I asked to talk to the owner. He was so worked up I was thinking he was going to take a swing at me. I feel bad for the other guy in there who witnessed this. I know I'll never go back to that store.

Ripoff: Had a leak on my side of the water meter-I cleared away all the dirt and concrete and made the 12 inch leaking pipe easily accessible to the plumber. All he had to do was loosen two connectors and replace the 12 inch pipe with plastic tubing-I replaced all the dirt and put everything back together. He was there for an hour at the most - $250 was the cost! Do not recommend!

Got to check this place out, g...

Got to check this place out, got rave review form a friend at work, was discussing cleaning mirrors, he had to get something to help clean his church and he went to these guys and they helped him out. As far as the other personnel that wrote reviews, Gee, guys, they are licensed, bonded, and insured, Don't you think somebody there kinda of tried to figure out what you wanted and needed.I know some wanna be plumbers and they tend to be, for lack of a better word they're stupid SOB's. The contractor knows the risks by these idiot wanna be's and has to figure out how and what to do with them, He/She can only send their best one or two people to figure out what's going on.
