Operational for more than 25 years, BIRC (Bio-Integral Resource Center) has been a nonprofit pest management organization. The organization specializes in finding non-toxic and least-toxic integrated pest management (IPM) solutions to urban as well as agricultural pest problems. It has worked with various local, state and national agencies in devising programs of scientific research, policy, project design and implementation. BIRC assists homeowners, farmers, cities, park/water districts, schools, and pest control professionals in pesticide use reduction. State of California Department of Pesticide Regulation honored BIRC with the Innovators Award in 1997.
