Once again I had another bathroom remodel with Fortuna Construction as my contractor. His work is quality and he loves what he does. He was very helpful when picking out tile, toilet, granite and the cupboards. He gave me advice on things that I hadn't even thought about. He was always on time and finished it in a timely matter. I have used him several times now and would not consider another contractor. He also came in under his estimate of cost which was a nice bonus.

I have used Fortuna Construction over the past 6 years. John has remodeled my kitchen, dining room, added a deck, did garage work, worked in my living room, put in new windows and now has remodeled the large bath and is working on the small bath. He does great work, is extremely detail oriented and makes sure that the finished job is what you want.

John did a great job from start to finish with a bathroom remodel which he totally gutted and started from scratch. We love our new bathroom! Thanks John!

John Fortuna is an excellent builder. He has replaced all our first floor windows and just completed remodeling our kitchen. Not only was John a good consultant in the design and execution of the plan, but also a conscientious worker. He paid attention to detail, making sure the cabinets, plumbing, and appliances were installed and working correctly. He arrived on time and worked around our schedule.

We appreciated his efforts to limit the mess of the remodeling by hanging a plastic curtain the kitchen to avoid the dust from getting into our livingroom, and cardboard was laid down on the floor to protect it from scratching and to keep it clean. Every night he vacuumed up, and when all the work was done the cardboard was removed and the floor washed.

It was great to see he was as pleased with the finished product as I was. He takes great pride in his work.

I had cedar wood on the front of my house which was rotting and needed replacement. I decided I wanted a "no fuss-maintence free siding". I joined Angie's list and found 3 contractors to contact. Two of the contractors came, didn't really measure and presented me with quotes. Then the high pressure tactics began!! The third vendor, John Fortuna ,came over and spent a great deal of time discussing options and measuring the front of the house. Let me just say that as soon as I met John I knew he would be the one I would select. I am from New Jersey, a widow and have my parents living with me. Let's just say that both my 85 year old Dad and I are a great judge of character and integrity, both our guts said, "doesn't matter if John's quote is the same or higher, he has the job", and let me tell you our we glad we chose him.

First, John is the owner of Fortuna construction, and he does all the work himself!!!! This the hardest, most diligent and honest person I have ever had the pleasure to HIRE!

His workmanship and attention to details is absolutely amazing. I was able to work closely with him amd only when I asked him to provide an opinion on the options to choose would he provide it.

Here is a sidenote: One of the previous contractors who provided a bid, was outside alone, we heard a big commotion like a ladder falling. I went to my window to make sure he was okay. It wasn't until days later that I noticed he had broken a small window in the basement. It was a weekend, at that point I hadn't even confirmed with John that he had the job. I called around to window replacement companies, no answer. I phoned John Fortuna, he came right over and said that he would replace the window!! He came over on a Satuday and he wasn't even hired at that point. Talk about impressive and a man of integrity.

Now to his work: The siding is AMAZING, it looks like a new house!! I am thrilled! John is the only one that I will ever hire from this point forward and I have other jobs that need to be done in this house. He has now begun work on enclosing my back deck and I cannot wait till it is completed.

You will get no one better to do any work on your house, this is one amazing (never stops working) man, and I feel a friend for life. He and my dad are truly buddies!!

I had used Fortuna construction previously for the siding on the front of my house. I was so happy with the outcome of the siding that I hired Fortuna construction to enclose my deck. This is one of the most HONEST, diligent, and precise individuals that I have had the pleasure to get to know and work on my home.My house has an upper and lower deck, when I first asked John about the possibility of enclosing the lower deck and that I wanted it as "bugproof" as possible, instead of either telling me that it could not be done or quoted me a price for a kit to install (as others did); he took measurements and said "let me go home and do some research". He came back with a quote and drawing which I will tell you looks just like the finished product. On a side note, John is one of the most thorough and thoughtful contractors I have had the pleasure to know and quite frankly my family misses seeing him everyday. I feel not only did we find a real professional but a new lifelong friend. You will not go wrong in choosing Fortuna construction.

John did the complete job from helping us determine what we wanted to do to tearing out our kitchen and remodeling the ktichen complete with installing new cabinets, new appliances, new faucets, and working with the granite company to install the new granite counters. He final bill was very close to the orginal estimate and his craftmanship is excellent. We are very happy with the final product.

If you want quality work done that is done at the agreed price that started when John said it would, the work site was cleaned up after every day, and got the great looking results you wanted, then look no further. A 12k remodel of windows, oversized patio door and new siding on the front of the house. John and Fortuna Construction are just what I wanted, someone I can trust.

I absolutely love the work John does. I don't even consider using anyone else on my house. Why would I? I have found a honest, hardworking, dedicated and thorough contractor. I recommend him to everyone I talk to. His work speaks for itself. I know my old house is in good hands and whatever recommendations he makes I go with because I know he is being honest and not trying to take advantage of me. He works within my budget and lets me know when things are going to add cost and when I save money.

John recently did two separate bathroom jobs for us. One was a repair of a shower that had pulled away from the wall the second was installation of a tile floor. Working with John on these was a very positive experience. He is very personable, does excellent work, gets the work done in a timely fashion and keeps the work site clean. We plan to use him again for our upcoming kitchen remodel.

From the beginning John made sure that we were getting exactly what we wanted. He provided updates at every step along the way, noting where he was able to save us money, and ensuring that we were happy with the work being done. As John saved money, he passed the savings back on to us, either by going above and beyond the initial estimate or by reducing the estimate. Because of John's honesty and attention to the budget, we were able to get two extra doors, an extra light fixture, a new staircase, and a couple of extra odds and ends upstairs done that were not included on the initial estimate for the same price as he originally quoted us. We have used John for a couple of projects now, and will not use anybody else again as long as we can help it.

Overall the experience went well. John is a quality builder, has a great work ethic, and pays great attention to detail. I feel that we have a very well built addition, and they did a great job.

From start to finish John was informative, thorough and professional. The deck was torn down in one day and the dumpster out of the driveway the very same day. The new deck and support posts for the bay window were completed within 2 days. I can't say enough about the quality of work including a redesign of the deck to ensure it met code and was safe. John's attention to quality and detail ensure that his work is a worthy investment. His pleasant and professional demeanor enabled us to feel very comfortable working with him.

We hired Fortuna Construction to remove our deck and build an addition in its place. He built a 10 x 16 addition with 3 windows, exterior door, and the most beautiful French doors that he hand-stained, along with all of the trim, in which he worked hard to match our existing trim color. He designed it to look like it was part of the original house, inside and out.

The quality of John’s work is exceptional. He is extremely detail-oriented (even in his quotes), a perfectionist in his work. The high quality of his workmanship shows that he takes pride in what he does. He is dependable, and kept us up to date daily on the progress of the project. His work ethic is outstanding—he put in many long days in the summer heat and humidity. The addition exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for high quality workmanship and a dependable contractor who aims to please his customer.

John did a remodel of my kitchen. He removed my old countertops, installed the new countertops, did a glass tile backsplash, built new cabinetry and did an amazing job. He is extremely thorough and honest. He took time out of his day to meet me at the tile store and help me pick out my back-splash. He will be the 1st person I go to for any remodeling/home projects and I would recommend him to all.

In addition to adding on to our horse barn we recently had John Fortuna remodel our Master Bathroom and we are thrilled with the outcome. The quality of service and workmanship is unmatched. I would highly recommend Fortuna Construction for your next remodeling or home improvement project.

John has proven to be a very skillful tradesman (tile work, framing drywall countertop installation, finished carpentry), and an effective project leader. Project was completed on time and w/i budget, and John was creative, and enjoyable to work with. His attention to cleaning up after himself was appreciated.

John has done two construction projects for me: a tiled tub enclosure, which included shower fixtures and a new window project, which included a picture window and two double-hung windows. John arrives early and if necessary works late. He offers lots of suggestions so that the customer can get the best deal for the money. He has even given me help and suggestions on my own personal construction projects. Most importantly, he does great work. The quality is superior, and he is not happy until you are happy. I have been very happy with my new tub and shower and windows.

John Fortuna did a great job. His work was done in a very short time. He spent hours trying to diagnose the true reason for the water leak, for which he didn't charge me for. He explained everything to me and was willing to work around my 3rd shift schedule. His prices are fair and he gave money saving options The finished product looks great and I'll definitely use his services again. I recommend him to all.

Our experience with John Fortuna exceeded our expectations from day one. He always showed up when he said he would, did exactly what he said he would do and the workmanship was excellent. I would highly recommend John to anyone.
