The website is inaccurate. They have limited fish-care supplies and no live fish. I drove in specially for these so completely wasted my time. The young lady working there laughed when I said the website needed to be updated by accuracy.

I'm a transplant to Southport, tried several places for pet gooming, they treated the grooming as a business which I understand. National Petland made me feel comfortable with leaving my "Buddy" with them and when I picked him up, I could tell they had treated him very good. Pets let you know if they have been mistreated. I plan on returning for another visit and hope it will be as good as the first trip.

Absolutely horrible!!! We were going to purchase a small animal from them, and my 6 year old had to use the bathroom and they wouldn't let her. Needless to say we took our business else where!

I have been going to this pet store for some time. At first, I went to get turtle supplies such as pumps, filters, and food. They are extremely overpriced, as to be expected by a small town specialty shop. Ah, then I sae their bearded dragon and decided I wanted one. Theirs was $120 versus the $35 I paid for the one I got at PetSmart. I also go all my other items from PetSmart. When I went to National Pet Land to pick up some crickets for my beardie, I was talking with the staff about how he wasn't eating the food THEY suggested I get for him. Apparently, at least to them, all PetSmart bearded dragons are crap and shouldn't live long because they aren't cared for. NOT TRUE. They also had very rude things to say about PetSmart, which wasn't good business behavior. As long as you buy from them, they're your best friend. But be warned: then minute you try to go a cheaper route, they get an attitude. Oh, and one other thing: they are very misinformed about their animals. I was told that bearded dragons get 3 to 3 1/2 feet long (not true) and that superworms rather than mealworms have hard shells (also untrue). Lord's sake its a pet shop! They should at LEAST know their own animals!

BEST pet store in the Southport Oak Island area. True professionals with over 40 years knowledge. They really care about you and your pet.
