Provided by YP.comThis is a great little shop for grooming services. I've been going here since shortly after they opened and although there has been a few changes in groomers over the years (some good, some not so good), overall, the service has been better than average and the prices reasonable. The owner is super nice and I appreciate that he remembers the way I like my dog groomed so I don't always have to explain it each time. The tiny shop has a great intimate feel and I think my dog feels more secure there than in the big open shops with tons of dogs barking. I would highly recommend this to any of my family and friends who are looking for a good reliable place to take their pets on a regular basis.

Provided by YP.comAppalling service! My dog was "accidentally" stabbed in the stomach with shears and his nails were ground down to the quick to the point of bleeding. Although I initially expressed that my dog was traumatized by a former groomer, this facility further traumatized my dog. On the first visit, I gave directions not to trim my dog's nails; they were trimmed with no regard for my written directions. My dog was stabbed in the stomach by shears on a subsequent visit; no apology and no veterinarian was contacted. The last straw was when six of my dogs nails were drilled down to the quick to the point of bleeding. Once again, no apology was ever given! When I picked my dog up on the last visit, the owner mentioned that my dog was so nervous. If a dog is stabbed and his nails drilled down to the quick, what else would a reasonable person expect. Absolutely no accountability in response to my final complaint. My dog was blamed! I do not recommend this facility!
Mr. Essi, we are sorry your experience at Sparky's was less than satisfactory, and again, we apologize for that. Although we did trim your dog's nails, we never trim them to the quick as a policy. It is our belief that smaller dogs who take long walks on hard city sidewalks will file their nails down even further due to their quick-paced strides. We believe this is what happened in this situation. Again, we apologize for this, and if given the opportunity, we would certainly make adjustments for this. As for the "accidental stabbing," Macho, your Jack Russell, exhibited extreme nervousness and jumped sporadically on the grooming table which we oftentimes see with dogs suffering from separation anxiety. Unfortunately, and despite our efforts at calming him while grooming, our clippers did nick his skin. We are insured for larger injuries, but in this case, our partner veterinarian said that only ointment was appropriate which we immediately applied. In fact, we gave some ointment packets to you to take home for further healing. Regarding apologies, we did apologize in-store, as well as via email, along with an immediate 20% discount with a 50% discount on the next visit. We would never intentionally hurt a dog or cat, and we try our best to provide the best service and product we can. And we do believe that the freedom of speech is a wonderful gift we all enjoy, so thank you for your review, and we hope you can accept our apologies. - Jose, owner of Sparky's.
