With a name as cool as beans and barley, it has to be good

I love love love beans and barley! B&B is Milwaukee's best gem for great food and good atmosphere. The grilled cheese and the egg burritos are two of my favorite dishes, with the humus plate as a close third. Oooh, and the vege chilli is out of this world. The folks who work there are always friendly. I would have to say this place has the best brunch in the city, but go early... the line is normally 45 minutes and you cannot call ahead. Even with the wait, I find myself there at least once a week and once a weekend. I can catagorically say, B&B is Milwaukee's best!

Hip and Healthy

This came up under a search for coffee. It's not a coffee place - but it is a great restaurant. Lots of natural sunlight, artwork that changes regularly, comfortable seating, friendly waitstaff. The food is very healthy and it also tastes great. Vegetarians will love the place - and so will thier meat eating friends. If you're a healthy hippie, or just enjoy pretending to be one on the weekends, you'll enjoy this restaurant and attached store.
