Provided by YP.comWorse most unprofessional movers I've ever seen. They were late and broke a beveled glass top to my 800.00 dinette set and at first told me it would be one week to fix it. Then he told me three weeks to get it back to me. Then he stopped answering my phone calls and I left message after message. Eventually one of his movers answered the phone and tried to tell me to call the glass company that was suppose to be fixing it and when i informed him it was not my responsibility he hung up the phone. I went by their office on Millbranch andf the door was wide open. I bet those of you who have lost furniture can find it there because the door was open and NO ONE I repeat NO ONE was there and the place was overflowing with different furniture. My next step is to file a civil lawsuit in order to get my money. I will not allow him to destroy my property without paying for it.

Well, just know he came down on the price. The driver/mover was so pissed that he had a funky attitude when I got back to the house while moving my furniture. They also, didn't put my bed back together. I had dialed Roberts number after they left, but hung up before he answered, because at that point it didn't matter. he must have called his guys and asked they what happend. They showed back up asking if I wanted them to put my bed together. NOPE, already done.
It turns out that one of the movers went to school with my daughter and stated Robert does this all the time and people usually just pay and not question him . he also said that they where told the job started at 10:30.

Provided by YPmobileWith economy being as craptastic as it is you would think that companies would have a higher value of those who solicit their goods & services. It seems that the opposite is taking place. Their way of thinking appears to be that more places are going out of business, which means they have less competition, which makes them feel less obligated to provide outstanding customer service. The public's money is expected rather than appreciated.
I came to this conclusion yesterday as I dealt with Discount Movers, Inc., in Memphis, TN, who goes by a different name on their voicemail. They gave me an appointment of 930 to come & move some furniture to my house. They never showed up. I called them several times back to back as did a friend of mine, who was kind to go out to the furniture & wait for the movers where the furniture was, simce I had to work. We both were sent to voicemail. My friend's call was answered after 20 minutes. To him it was reported that they called me the day prior but had taken down the wrong number and were going to come at 130 instead. That was unacceptable to me, seeing that 930 is a long way from 130.
I continued to call from my cell & work phones for 45 minutes. Somehow their phone alternated between being out of service & sending me to voicemail. I left voicemails when given the option. No answer, no returned call. Then I borrowed a co-worker's phone. There was no answer, but I did receive a call back 10 minutes later. I explained to them that I had a 930 appointment with them. The customer service representative told me, "Things don't always go the way we plan them, ma'am. We'll be there at 130." He spoke as though I was inconveniencing him by being irritated. I continued to explain to him that he was being inconsiderate of my time and that his failed urgency to tectify the situation was unprofessional. To that he replied, "Do you want to continue to berate me, or do you want me to see if we can try to make it out there around 130, closer to 2? I'll give you time to think about it & call you back." And with that he hung up the phone.
Around 12 he called my co-worker's phone back (he never did call MY phone) and asked if I'd found somebody to move my stuff. I told him that I was renting a U-Haul and moving it myself. He then told me, "Well, I'm glad you found a way to solve your own problems. You should have done that instead of wasting both of our time this morning telling me where my people were supposed to be when I told you that by my error we weren't going to be there." And he hung up the phone again.
This experience pushed each and every one of my buttons. I'm irritated that as a customer my time means nothing to Discount Movers, Inc. I personally believe that they wrote all of the reviews on Google Places & all the other customer service related websites themselves. To me they seemed to be professional at acting unprofessionally. I recommend that no one who values his or her time patrons their business.

Provided by YP.comI made the biggest mistake by hiring them. First of all, they arrived 3 hours late. Then when it was time to unload my stuff into my new house...(we moved to a different state), my $800 coffee table was cracked open from the side where you could literally tear the wood off with your hands! My expensive dryer was completely dented in from one side, so badly that when I turned it on to see if it still worked, it started burning up with the metal rubbing together and I had to buy a new one. Discount movers, the owner Robert, LOST one of 6 dining table chairs, telling me he accidentally gave it to some other people who's stuff was also in our truck...and they apparently made some stops in another part of Tennessee before arriving in Georgia, we're we moved. But I havent gotten to the best parts yet. Robert, discount movers, knew about the chair and the dryer and coffee table along with the multiple other scratches on other furniture items, so he left early back to memphis before the truck could be completely unloaded, leaving his local guys to complete the work. When the truck was completely unloaded and we called him, he didn't even sound surprised. We also found out that my husbands ENTIRE box of workout weights wasnt there along with one of thr patio chairs (thieves)! On top of that, his local guys were supposed to leave with their uhaul truck, but instead, Robert hadnt filled up the gas in his truck and we had to drive his local guys to gas station, fill up gas with OUR money in his truck like it's our responsibility. And the best part is, it's been a month and we still don't know where our chair is, we havent gotten any of the "insurance" money that he charged, we havent gotten the gas money, in fact, discount movers,(crappy, loser, fraudulent, ghetto, f'ed up movers...in other words..Robert the owner) hasn't been returning our phone calls! For a month! Save yourself before you hire these thieves, liars, cheaters, disrespectful conniving ingrates. There is so much I could say, we are so frustrated and angry, we paid so much, around $3000 for 2 bedroom apartment move and half our stuff returned to us damaged and f'ed up...just like that punk Robert, who won't return our calls, and his "company"...if that's what you call it.
