We've been to both the Elmhurs...

We've been to both the Elmhurst and Lisle location. The Lisle location is very neat because they have rubs and BBQ sauces. They also have cooking classes in the summer!



This business definitely cares about the customers!

We stopped in to the Lisle showroom and asked for an estimate on either fixing our broken electric fireplace or upgrading it to a full fireplace. We were told for $75 someone would come out to do this. The two men arrived, looked at the fireplace for about 10 seconds and said it's not a real fireplace. Your chimney's not real." I mentioned that the previous owner had converted the "real" fireplace to electric due to allergies. At that point he stuck his hand up the chimney and said, "Oh yeah, well they took it all out and boxed it up." He then wrote up a bill for $82.95! $75 for the "inspection" and 7.95 for a "travel fee." I said, what about our estimate on fixing the electric? He said that I would have to get another rep to come out for another $75 to give me an estimate on fixing the electric.



Are you kidding me? Both my husband and I called the store in Lisle to find out why this happened. They were not apologetic or interested. The "inspector" had told me that they might deduct the second $75 from our bill if we used their service. After two phone calls, the manager finally said that we would not have to pay a second $75, but at this point, can we trust this company?



$82.95 is a bit steep for someone to look at my fireplace for about 30 seconds. The customer service via phone is also lacking. When my husband called the manager after I did, the manager basically told my husband that I was making up what happened and that they would never treat anyone that way. Come on! Why not just apologize?



Not recommended!!!
