Provided by YP.comMy serpentine belt broke on the way home from work Friday afternoon, so I got my car to the nearest mechanic that was open, which was Texas Tirez (or Broadway joes, how its listed here.) They told me that they would fix it for $100 plus the part, which was $30. I got my car the next morning, and they told me that the tensioner pulley was going bad, so i asked how much out would cost to fix it, and if it would last two weeks until i get paid again to fix it. He told me it would last, and it would be $80 for labor, and $60 for the part. I went straight from the auto shop to work in Arlington, while having to clean grease off of my steering wheel, and keys, so I didn't get grease on my white pants. When I got to Arlington, my car started squealing, but I didn't have time to look at it, so I turned my car off, and went to work. When I got off at 11pm, the wheel would not turn, and the car was getting hot very quickly, so I popped the hood, and the serpentine belt had come off again. I had to call, and wake up my parents at 11pm to come get me, while I waited in an empty parking lot by myself for almost an hour. I called Texas tires the next morning, and he gave me a number to a tow truck that would tow my car back for relatively inexpensive, and said that he would charge $175 to fix the tensioner pulley, and to put the belt back on. My dad asked, on speakerphone if the $175 was for parts and labor, and the mechanic confirmed that it would be $175 total, for parts and labor. I paid $80 to get my car towed back the Texas tirez, and when I got there, they bumped the price up to $175 for labor, and $60 for the part, knowing that I couldn't go anywhere else. This place will screw you out of money the first chance they get, if I could give them less than one star, I would. My advise, go literally anywhere else to have work done on your car, very dishonest business, I will not be going back.
