We needed to have our 12 year old fireplace serviced so I contacted the Firplace Store and More. Hudson came to our house a few days before Christmas (evening to accommodate our work schedules). He was AWESOME! Not only did he repair our fireplace, he also showed us where the shut off valve for the fire place was located (we should have known this, but did not.......). Hudson had his nephew with him and the two could not have been more professional and helpful. We will now have our unit serviced on a regular basis and will only call the Fireplace Store and More. Exceptional service!

Would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a fireplace installation. Hudson took time to explain the workings of the Mendota direct vent fireplace as opposed to installing a simple gas log. Not only is the Mendota unit environmentally "green", it's also beautiful. Rony did the installation and he did a wonderful job. He takes pride in his work and it shows in the end product. He answered all questions and explained things as he was installing. I appreciate the job he did.I went to four other fireplace stores before deciding on this one and I'm happy that I did my research.

0 STARS!! HORRIBLE! We ordered a fireplace insert back on October 14. It is December 16 and the job just got completed today. Roni and Hudson were very unprofessional and did not show up for several appts. They claimed they ordered items that were never ordered. We ended up calling Mendota directly to get the ball rolling. When they did finally install the unit, it was not level, the left a gap between the faceplate and the wall (cold air coming in), they covered a portion of the gas valve and caused a gas leak in our home. Ultimately Nicor shut off our gas! This company should not even be in business. They are 2 clueless people trying to do a job they are clearly not qualified to do.

Our fireplace looks great!!!! They know what they are doing. They are friendly and helpful and not pushy. Thanks for everything. I know that we will enjoy it this winter.
