Our family has used Dr. James for two years for eye glasses and medical eye care for my husband. We had no issues with the office for the first two years. However, the office manager of the Mabank office inserted herself in a conversation I was having with the eyeglass fulfillment department and called me a liar. The next day when the regular employee returned and informed the manager that she had in fact made the statement I said she made, the manager refused to apologize for yelling at me in the office in front of other patients and my daughter. My husband then showed up for his scheduled appointment (written on a card by the manager) only to find that they scheduled the doctor to be out that day and informed all patients except my husband. When he showed up for his appointment and was told the doctor wasn't there, he asked for the doctor to call him. He was told to leave the building or they would call the police on him. My husband received a letter from the doctor stating he would no longer treat him because of HIS abusive treatment of the office staff. I was there and there was no abuse at all. Calling me a liar and refusing to apologize after finding out I was telling the truth, is abuse of a patient. Dr. James has never called and asked our side of the story. Dr. James was never present to view the actions of his manager. The eye glass employee told us that the manager is quite a mean person and that once you get on that side of her there is no going back. My husband has a condition that needs daily treatment and a prescription. Dr. James stated he would treat my husband on an emergency basis only for 30 days and that he seriously needed to find a new doctor. We have one, but cannot get in for more than 30 days. We have asked no less than three times to get his records to take to a new doctor and were told each time that we would need to sign a release. Three times a release has been requestee, but to date none has been received. Though the doctor did find time to send a certified letter stating that he would no longer treat my husband and to find another doctor. Again, no records or release included. This is gross neglect on the doctor's part and my advice is to NOT go to Dallas Eye Care, either in Dallas or GBC. We contacted Dallas and spoke with the main office manager who did not return calls as she said she would. Very unprofessional office and patients come last.
