Provided by YPmobileThis practice is perfect for our family. Doctors are great, knowledgeable and friendly. In an emergency the doctors were able to fit us in for a same day appointment.

Provided by YP.comI love my Dr. at Palmetto Peds, but they have way too many patients. So many, that sick appointments are unavailable that day and well visits are having to be scheduled months in advance. This is so far from the practice they used to maintain and I am searching for a new Dr. They are now so impersonal and so corporate that it makes me so angry with them. Like I said I do love my Dr, but I can never get in there without a hassle. Life is too short.

Provided by YP.comI am so shocked to read some of these reviews! Dr, Cabiness, and the Clemson Office Staff have always been such a pleasure to communicate with! They saw my newborn 3 times a week when he was sick for 6 weeks. They have always been respectful of my parenting decisions, and answer all my concerns! I hope my one review is enough to help someone looking for a caring facility for their child.

Provided by YP.comMy child has an appointment today to which was confirmed via email and voicemail when we arrived the Office Manager told us that the visit was canceled bc our account is now inactive. I asked why to find they deactivated our account bc I requested medical records 2 weeks ago when they would see my child who was throwing up and not eating at 3 months!! I was forced to visit another office to see what was wrong with my child bc Dr. Shroads was too busy to see her. The OM told me they deactivate accounts when someone requests medical records. I told her no one told me that and my 4 month old needs her shots today and an office visit. She continued to smile and laugh and when I asked her if she thought they should let people know that when they request medical records the account will be deactivated to which she replied, "I guess so". I explained to her that her laughing was really upsetting me as that office and Dr. and staff continue to show me that they really do not care about the child bc at the end of the day that's what it's about. I am so disgusted and bothered a pediatric office and Dr. would behave this way and not give a child they care they NEED. I am now forced to find a pediatrician this week so my child is not off schedule with her shots.
When I called 2 weeks ago for the sick visit I was on hold for over 30 minutes when I finally decided to go to the office. I found 2 receptionists sitting there talking and one filing her nails. She then tells me that they do not accept walk-ins. I told her I wouldn't be a walk in if someone answered the phone. They did not show any concern. I told them I thought something was wrong with their phones as I was the 3rd caller for over 30 minutes. They didn't offer any apologies or concern. Dr. Shroads nurse asked him if he would see my child but he would not. My child had not eaten properly for now 3 days and was throwing up at 3 months. I couldn't believe he felt that wasn't important enough to see my child. They said they could see my child the next day which would be another 24 hours of no eating and throwing up. I think any parent would agree they would not want to wait another 24 hours.

Provided by YP.comThere are not many family physicians or pediatric offices in the Northeast of Columbia, so this seems to be where many people take their children. And I mean MANY.
When my daughter was born last year we had to go back into the hospital about 5 days later for some treatment. Our follow-ups were to take place at PP and we could not get in for an apt. The answering service continued to put us through to voicemail, and we had difficulty getting our messages returned for an apt. Dumb and frustrating, especially when it's regarding a newborn! Once our daughter was well and we needed to schedule a "Well" visit, they wouldn't answer the phone for those either, but continued to receive voicemail. You have to push "Sick" to get anyone on the phone.
9 Months later I am calling to schedule a 9-Month-Checkup and Shots and they cannot get us in until January! That's 3 months from now.... Really!? I understand booking out- but for 3 months and they have a number of doctors?? She'll be a year old by then, and will need those shots too. We're going to be seen by the downtown office, and after that I am switching care. I spoke with my sister-in-law and she is also looking to transfer to a new practice from Palmetto Pediatrics.
I would also say that their front desk staff can be slightly rude if you question them. They'll tell you to go to a specific colored room to wait, and ha- the doorways are one color and the walls inside are another- so every mom is confused as to which room they're supposed to go and wait in! If you've been here, you probably know what I'm referring to.
(Btw- Dr. Caviness was great, if you can ever get in.)

Provided by YP.comGreat place for well visits, not for sick visits! Called to schedule sick visit for my daughter that had extreme headache. I had just dropped daughter off to school and was planning to schedule an appointment for her to be seen later in the morning. The admin staff did schedule my daughter for an afternoon appointment; however, nurse returned call to respond to my questions...such as do I give tylenol, monitor level of pain...instead she said that she was going to send EMT to my daughter's school. I was not sure how to respond to this suggestion, but I did ask to be allowed to pick my daughter up from school and bring her into the office. I was told to take her directly to the ER. After waiting hours at ER, I called the office again and asked to be seen at the original afternoon appointment time and was told that the appointment had been cancelled and there were not any other sick appointments available. I then asked if my daughter could be seen by another doctor in the practice (there are 17 doctors in this practice) and I was told no once again. To sum it up, we waited hours in the ER (and incurred a $1,600 bill) just to find out that my daughter had a fever and, possibly, a virus. I have since reported this to my daughter's pediatrician and she did not seem to care enough to listen, much less to make any changes to current office procedures (i.e. requiring a doctor's approval before sending patient to ER) or issue an apology. I have requested a copy of my daughter's records and will never again allow her to receive substandard care from this practice!
