She has experience working with adults on a psychiatric unit in a hospital and at-risk youth at a residential treatment facility. Joy also has experience providing grief counseling services. In addition, she has provided services to families within the community. Joy became interested in family systems theory and grief counseling while receiving her undergraduate degree at North Central College in Naperville, where she doubled majored in psychology and sociology.
