Provided by YP.comI had an apointment today with NY TECH TV REPAIR for my GE appliance through my service contract. I waited in from 12n to 5p as scheduled and no one showed up and I was not contacted. I did call them at 718 787-1301 and the machine said I was unable to leave a message. I would give them zero stars for lack of professionalism and customer service. Also my service contract provider was unable to reach them. I tried to give zero stars but this review would not accept zero stars

Provided by YP.comThe picture on my TV was progressively getting darker, even after I had been adjusting the brightness and color. I called NY Tech based on reviews I had read online, then also I got $25 discount on their website. They came out the same day, come to find out later, the technician came to my house on his day off!
It took about 10 minutes for him to diagnose the problem as a bad circuit board, he told me this was a common problem with my particular TV. He said since my TV is a bit older, Hitachi does not stock the parts anymore for it to be fixed, only way to fix it would be to send the circuit board back to Hitachi and get it fixed. He was very honest (that's very uncommon at our time!!!!)he said that his other customer had been waiting 2 months for theirs, and you can't watch your TV. I'm not about to wait 2 months, pay $550, and not have a working TV!
He was able to adjust the picture internally for me and it looks as good as new. He did say that it was only a temporary fix because since the circuit board is bad, it's only a matter of time before the picture starts going to crap again, he said could be anywhere from a week to a year, I'm hoping the latter, since I don't have the funds to buy a new TV.
So to sum it up, for a $65 (their service charge to come out )and a minor labor $100, I had my TV temporarily fixed, buying me time with this TV before I am forced to buy another one.
The technician was also very friendly and offered me advice on what type of TV I should buy next and what I should look for. I would not hesitate to use them again should a future problem arise with another one of my TV's.

None of them were willing to come out and look at my TV in such a short notice.
I Called this shop on 11/25/09, in the morning.
The appointment was scheduled right away.
Technician came fully equipped and repaired TV the same day.
I was so happy to have my TV working on Thanksgiving day to watch it with all my family.

Provided by YP.comI spoke to a saleslady today that told me it would be at least $125 to fix the little piece that the cable cord screws onto. This is a 5 yr old tv not a plasma/lcd and it's 27". It's better for me to just buy a new one. I cannot justify why it would cost this much just to replace a part that costs no more than $10 (to be generous). Needless to say, they will not be getting my business this time and I have no plans in the future to EVER use their services
Hello, This problem that the customer tried to explain, contains not only “the little piece that the cable cord screws onto” that little piece broke off from the tuner, which of course does not cost $10, but approximately $60-$70 for that tuner , depends on the model number of the TV. Plus of course the labor price and trip charge to the customer’s house for his convenience. We didn’t ask the customer to bring TV to the shop, because it’s an OLD CRT TV Set and it’s very heavy and big. Actually this particular customer was looking for FREE service, which is impossible, we are in business to make money, not to lose money. That’s why customers get fast professional service, not expensive ,but not FREE. P.S. Any estimate giving over the phone is the approximate estimate. It could be changed when the technician actually physically looks into TV.
