Provided by YP.comOh AWOG, how can I say this...your level of unprofessional ism is on par with return policies at a flea market. Unbeknownst to me, you can actually be dropped from a physician's care while pregnant because of billing? Well, let me tell you my story:
My first experience was a happy one. Then came billing, it was suggested that I go on a payment plan for my high deductible - $3k per year. However, I declined because I did not know if I'd be staying in Atlanta. They even gave a sheet on what the cost of everything is, down to Kleenex. Now, being just a public school graduate for both grade school and college, perhaps my math is wrong...but even if it costs a total of $10k, my obligation is 20% - $2k. Because my baby is due Jan.13th, ultimately I'd pay $6k to AWOG if I were stupid! I asked the woman in billing who confronted me about paying this amount why I would consent when I did not owe AWOG $3k; she replied that it was "not my problem" and then said, in front of my 4 year old, "oh, you don't have it?" I then asked for a printout of what I owed to date minus payments and suddenly she needed to go find out! REALLY! I am 34 weeks and I face the insane obstacle of finding a new obgyn who will take me. Thanks AWOG.

Provided by YP.comI was a new patient at Atlanta's Women's OB GYN on Collier Rd and was pleased with the service as a patient who typically saw Dr. Hood and Dr. Sternberg. In fact, Dr. Hood delivered my baby in May 2008 via c-section and did a great job. However, as with most OBGYN offices, doctors are on rotation at the hospital and you are not guaranteed to see your doctor of preference; which at first I thought was OK. However, my experience proved otherwise.
The doctor on rotation while I was recovering from my c-section was Dr. Gabriela Siegel. She treated my like a low-class citizen. She greeted me as if it was a burden for her to be caring for me. At first, I thought that maybe she was just having a bad day. But, the next day she treated me she had the same attitude.
Specifically, on the day that I was being released from the hospital, she gave me a prescription to ease the pain of my c-section. My husband and I dropped off the prescription at the pharmacy on the way home from the hospital; with plans for him to pick it up later that day. However, in the hustle and excitement of arriving home with our new baby, we neglected to notice that the pharmacy closed early on Sundays. At this point, I was in sooooooo much pain to the point of tears; so we decided to call the on-call doctor for a prescription to be filled at a 24hour pharmacy (just to get me through the night). Dr. Siegel called me back and when I explained to her what happened, she reprimanded me by saying "I thought I already gave you a prescription. I wish you had checked the time the pharmacy closed. Did you check to make sure this pharmacy is open, because I don't want you calling me back for a new prescription."
I was in so much pain and her horrible bedside manners made it worst; in addition to the postpartum emotions and hormone imbalance that you feel after having a baby. It triggered a since of inadequacy in me and cried all night. My baby is now 8 months and I still haven't been to the OBGYN for my 6 month appointment, because of this experience. Unless you are guaranteed to see the doctor of your preference, I definitely do not recommend this practice.
