My 12 year old chihuahua had to be put down very suddenly. I was devasted and wanted to bring her for cremation, be present for the process, and leave with her ashes that same day. Most places do not have this option, but Resthaven has a "private cremation" option which was exactly what I wanted. It wasn't much more expensive, and definitely worth my peace of mind. They were able to schedule me the very next day. They were very understanding and accommodating, which I truly appreciate. Her remains were put in a small wooden box. I have ordered an urn, but the box was included for free (lots of places charge), and it's a dignified way to bring her home.

Abysmal service. The owner, Frank, picked up our Amelia from our vet after she had passed. We told the vet we want a paw print - not an unreasonable request considering it is included in many other places. Distraught, my wife called them less than two hours after she dropped our Amelia off at the vet. Seymour is 40 to 50 minutes away from our vet, considering the time delay there was no way our Amelia had already been cremated. My wife told him she wanted a paw print. He gave excuses and seemed like he didn't want to be bothered about it. In short, he in no way represented their claim on their website, to "Bring closure to grieving Pet Owners as quickly, economical and painless as possible. Treat Pet Owners beloved pets with care, respect, and as if they are our own."

Instead, without so much as a phone call they brought our Amelia back to the vet in a small box "Made in China." They didn't bother to peel the "Made in China" sticker off of the box, they slapped a generic piece of paper with generic information on it. This piece of paper isn't even glued down all the way. $150. I'm certain it didn't cost them more than $10 for this box and less than a penny for the sandwich bag and magic marker ink they wrote her name on the bag with.

Frank was supposed to call me back. He never did. What a disgrace. I'm not a grieving pet owner, I'm an angry customer. I wouldn't treat anybody this way. Had I suspected that he wouldn't do anything, I would've demanded my pets body back, or at the very least I would've driven up there and taken a clay imprint myself. I would've spent the extra fifty cents and travel miles. Now, I have nothing but a sandwich bag full of ash containing, God knows what and a cheap box "Made in China."

Disgraceful
