Jeet Minocha, MD, is a board-certified radiologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating disease and injury through the use of medical imaging techniques. These imaging techniques include X-ray, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound. As an interventional radiologist, Dr. Minocha uses minimally invasive, image-guided procedures targeted to treat the disease process. Through interventional oncology procedures, Dr. Minocha is able to provide localized, precisely targeted cancer treatments. He performs treatments for liver, kidney and lung cancers. Dr. Minochas clinical expertise also includes treating venous diseases, including placing and retrieving inferior vena cava (ICV) filters. An assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Minocha trains radiology fellows and residents. His research interests include interventional oncology and inferior vena cava filters. Dr. Minocha has co-authored many articles, including Improving Inferior Vena Cava Filter Retrieval Rates: Impact of a Dedicated Inferior Vena Cava Filter Clinic," which received the editor's award for clinical research paper of the year in 2010 from the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. His work has also appeared in the American Journal of Roentgenology and the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, among others. Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Minocha was an assistant professor of radiology in the Division of Interventional Radiology at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System in Chicago.He completed his fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and his residency in diagnostic radiology at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. Dr. Minocha earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is board-certified in diagnostic radiology and vascular and interventional radiology.Dr. Minocha actively participates in several medical societies.
