Midas Tire and Auto Service, 1400 S Federal Highway Pompano Beach, FL 33062Midas ruined my new 2015 car's oil plug and filter. There are inexperienced mechanics working here. It is common knowledge to not over torque these components but they tightened my oil plug with an impact wrench and rounded out the hex bit so it cannot be removed anymore. I took the car to another mechanic who did not want to touch the car after seeing how rounded out the drain plug was, and said a new oil pan will be needed since they tightened it way too much. I had to hire a professional welder to weld a new nut to the rounded out oil plug in order to change the oil. The oil filter was also over-torqued, causing sealing and additional leaking issues. The car now leaks oil and cannot be covered under warranty do to these mechanic's errors. The car only had 10,000 miles on it when I first brought it in to Midas for a simple oil change, no other mechanics had touched the car since Midas did the oil change. This has now turned into a +$1,000.00 job. DO NOT TRUST THE MIDAS TOUCH!!!They WILL damage up your car with lazy mechanic impact wrenches on the wrong components. Something you will not notice until you bring back for routine maintenance.

Kevin the manager talks a good game but they will put it to ya and do not care spent 900 dollars and car is running worse than when it went in and the thing is they could care less he said wait till check light comes on and bring it back! Now before this he said leave it with me tomra when I have time to diagnose it right mike my mechanic does not no how to diagnose wow that made me feel good mike was the one who worked on my car so I left there with my car sputtering and hesitating and this lazy kevin who I called in morning he says I am busy call ya 15mins never calls back so I go over again makes wait an hour I said you going to diagnose it now it is running worse than when I brought in just want it right oh no he says I talked to Russell the owner who I had met the day before flying his drone outside the shop Russell said we cannot help him until check light comes on THESE GUYS DO NOT CARE ABOUT THERE CLIENTS TRUST ME BEWARE I HAD TO LEAVE STAY AWAY...

Bad service. Installed a catalytic converter and the exhaust was leaking. I wouldn't pay until they fixed it. Lou said they were my parts so too bad. His mechanic came out and said the same thing. He said he knew it was leaking when he gave it back to me. I brought my own catalytic converter and they agreed ahead of time that it was OK. They would charge $120 for the installation. I refused to pay until they fixed the leak. They called the cops. Nice customer relations, huh? They told the cops that the gasket that I brought wasn't fitting right and that is why the exhaust was leaking. They never told me that. I called Midas customer service and they told the shop to get the correct gasket and install it. Thank you customer service. They installed it and it is fine now. They charged me another $90 for the gasket. The bill that was supposed to be $120 was now $222. I paid the $222. But will never go back there again. They are giving Midas a bad reputation.

Lou the counter rep,gave me a price to do an exhaust job for me. When i came in,i found out he wanted to "jerry rig" my car. When i demanded the job done right,he developed an attitude. Then he forced me to pay more money or he would keep my car,and he called the broward sheriffs office and used them as leverage,while lying and playing the victim
