I took my wife's shoes because of these impressive ratings and I asked if you can wipe clean and fix the shoe's. When I came back and just put the shoes in the bag and when I too them to my wife we noticed that it looked WORSE than we got them. Part of the shoe that needed to be fixed was glued with the broken piece sticking out, the shoe was not even wiped cleaned, and the sole was cracked. They were closed the next day and didn't bother to drive all the way over there since I found one closer so we'll see how well they do. Not impressed with this shoe repair place at all. Money out the window!

Don't waste your money here

My 10-year-old could have done a better job. I should have flushed $25 down the toilet. Plus the gas and toll money I spent to drive here!!

If I could have, I would have given a 0 rating.

I had my western boots re-heeled at Ted's and I was impressed with both him and his shop. He explained to me what he was going to do and showed me the replacement parts he was going to use. The work done was outstanding in both craftsmanship and cost for service. I'll definitely take any future work I need back there. Thank you Ted!

"BEST" Shoe Repair

Ted’s Shoe Repair is truly one of the last remaining "Master Craftsman," as remembered as a child growing up in the 1950’s. Entering Ted’s shop is walk back into time where "Made in the USA" was once a badge of honor that represented quality of workmanship, work ethic and the American "Can-Do" sprit. Ted repaired a shoe where the sole had separated from the shoe, a shoe that was made overseas and less than a month old, cost of repair was $10.00. Ted’s Shoe Repair is highly recommended to all and to those who may want to experience a snapshot in time, of what once was, that made this nation great. Ted’s Shoe Repair is not easily seen from the road but just passed the intersection of Curry Ford Road and Crystal Lake Road heading West, half a block on your right side after the intersection, kitty-corner within a small group of stores.

Bad 2X workmanship

BAD. I never saw Ted, only his clerk but judging from his work he is either a cobbling poser or enfeebled one who has lost his knack. The shop looks like that of an old timer and he only works there three days a week. I asked for a re-heel on two pair of mens dress shoes. Both pair were damaged, the leather is scarred/marred on the quarter well above the heel and glue ooze is all around transition. My wife picked up the shoes and did not inspect the work before paying (Ted accepts cash only). I will be asking for a full refund. My preferred cobbler, Zuelas Shoe Repair, has relocated out of my area. I had had very satisfactory service from Zuelas over the past four years namely for new heels and resoles. My shoes were always freshly shined when I collected them, another thing Ted did not do in my case. It was on the strength the review at this site that I took my trade to Ted. The only review here panned Zuelas. I suspect Ted's review was a shill.
