Worse experience I've ever had!!! First time using them and my dog was injured and I have yet to receive a phone call from any manager, with details. Front desk worker called me the day AFTER the occurrence and was unable to provide any details on how it happened, why it happened and the extent of injuries. He said a manager would call and I’m still waiting to speak to a manager 3 days later. Upon pickup, he said that the manager was still unavailable. So, I had to leave with an injured pet without knowing what happened. My dog is my child. I would think they would understand the seriousness of just wanting to know what happened. But, obviously they only care about $$$. I know accidents occur, but at this point, it's the lack of customer service and compassion that is a problem for me. DO NOT ENTRUST YOUR PET WITH THEM!!!!

If I could give them a zero, I would. Staff was completely incompetent. Had my cats there for 4 overnights plus wash and brush. Told staff exactly what time I would be there and cats were not bathed upon pickup. Explained once again, that they need to be bathed and that I would return in 5 hours. Received a missed call 3 1/2 hours later from them but no voicemail message. When I called back to find out what happened, they hung up on me. Called back again to find out status, got hung up on AGAIN. Had to call back a 3rd time and asked for a manager (of course there is no manager) then the groomer, Jeanette tells me 1 cat doesn't want a bath (WHAT CAT ACTUALLLY WANTS A BATH?) and the other cat was so matted that she can't bathe her, she can only shave her (THE CAT WAS IN A CAGE FOR 4 DAYS, OF COURSE SHE IS MATTED!). When I came to pick them up, unwashed, card was overcharged (they tried to blame me for that one), my cats supplies were missing (food bowls and towels), and they were anything BUT apologetic. I missed 4 hours of work for their incompetence and in the end, ended up having to take them to another groomer who was able to groom both cats in less time for the same amount of money. Go figure! It just so happens that while there waiting for them to bring my cats out to me, the groomer had not started work yet, the lights were off in the grooming area and a client called to get status on her dog, Snickers. I heard the front desk girl tell the client that her dog was still getting groomed and would not be finished for another hour (FLAT OUT LIED TO THAT CUSTOMER!)

I have been a customer of The Barkers for quite some time but will NEVER go back. Here's a tip...THEY CAN'T BE TRUSTED WITH YOUR PET!

We absolutely LOVE Barkers!! I have 3 Pitbulls, they all have been trained at Barkers, go to daycare here and LOVE IT!! The staff and owner are amazing!! Barkers is the best thing around for your pet. I wouldn't bring my dog to any other center. All 3 of my dogs get super excited knowing they get to go to school and swim and play at Barkers. There are not enough words to say how awesome the place is. If you have never been, you must visit with your pet!! The entire staff is GREAT!!!

I am Barkers customer for over a year and can't say enough nice things about them. I referred all my friends, neighbors and co-workers to the Barkers.

I appreciate everything they do for me. I travel a lot and my schedule at work is crazy, so like always I depend on Barkers. This is the only place that is open 8PM to pick up your dog from day care or even grooming. Before I found Barkers I couldn’t take any weekend jobs because of my dog. If I leave him home alone he would tear the house apart. I’m really happy that I can leave my dog there even on the weekends and pick him up all happy and tired.

And all you Barkers staff - you are amazing. Thank you for everything and see you tomorrow.

I had a horrible experience wi...

I had a horrible experience with the grooming at this facility. I called ahead to confirm the price and told the receptionist exactly what type of dog I had, that he weighed 55 lbs, and had many knots on his tail and ears. I also explained that I like to bring my dog wet from swimming before getting groomed. She quoted me $75 but $10 for a first time visit. Since I normally pay $65 at my usual groomer, I made an appointment.

I arrived after my pups swim session and the receptionist walked me back to the groomer and the story changed! Apparently, my dog now costs $95 (with a $10 discount for first timers) and de-matting costs an extra $30 but he would "do me a favor" because it was my first time and not charge. At this point my dog is soaking wet and I am late for a work appointment, so I am forced to leave him. I come back to get him and he was dying of thirst. He drank an entire bowl of water on our way out. I then arrived home and he is constantly licking his legs..CONSTANTLY! I am thinking maybe he is allergic to the shampoo, but then I see he has a soar on his neck as well. They must have either burnt his legs and neck with the dryer or nicked him with the scissors. This is my CHILD and now he is uncomfortable and I have to watch him suffer until this heals. I am debating taking him to the vet if it doesn't get better in another day.

I pay $65 at my normal groomer (Bark N Cat) and they NEVER even mention his knots when I take him in (and they are gone when I pick him up with NO extra charge), and he has NEVER had a health issue after leaving, and is NEVER thirsty. I will NEVER go back to this place. Horrible experience. If he doesn't get better in a day or so I will also be billing them for the Veterinarian visit.

I drive all the way from Light...

I drive all the way from Lighthouse point just to drop my dogs off for baths & spas, groomings, daycare and boarding. I have a yorkie and Labrador retriever who love to play all day in the indoor/out door play areas. They come home so happy and exercised from playing all day. Since The Barkers Pet Center has opened I have been coming here for boarding and all the staff is really friendly. The owners Vaida and Shai have a passion for dogs and they are the best in the businesses. They really care about their customers. Their loving and caring staff gives me followup calls to see how my pets are doing. Paula and Mario are absolutely the most professional pet groomers I have found. The both provide full scissor cuts and the grooming is 100% satisfaction guaranteed. The boarding facilities' are also superb. The overall cleanliness and the special personalized care they give to each pet is out of this world. The owner Vaida is always there to answer any questions you may have about your pets special diet needs. I have never seen such friendly staff. There's nothing standard about Barkers.

Barkers deserves a five-star r...

Barkers deserves a five-star rating, except that Vaida (owner of Barkers) has let her husband, Shai, start managing the day-to-day functions of the store. Before Shai was at Barkers, everything was great and I was a BIG SPENDING AND LOYAL CUSTOMER! But as soon as he came there, their customer service (especially from him) has gone downhill. I want it to be prefectly clear and known that Shai has horrible communication skills, is a jerk, and is a complete a-s-s-hole to his customers AND his staff. Other friends of mine that used to take their pets there and were also big spenders there, no longer do due to Shai. They all say the same thing; he is their cancer... and what do you do with a cancer? You remove it.

The straw that broke the camel's back was when I saw him swear at and verbally abuse 2 of his staff members in front of 6 other customers. When another customer that was buying (very) expensive dog food attempted to stand up for those 2 staff members, the owner cussed HER out and told her to, "Shut the F[expletive] up! I run businesses all the time! What do you know about business?" ..I wasn't surprised that she, and a few others left the store and are now taking their business elsewhere. That man will be downfall of that business as long as he remains there.

The Barkers Pet Resort is an excellent choice for holistic and raw pet food. They carry a huge selection of pet supplies and the front desk staff is very knowledgable and willing to help with questions concerning my pets diets since they are both picky eaters. They dog groomers, Mario and Paula, are beyond professionals and have been creating fabulous cuts on both of my yorkies for 2 years. There grooming salon is cage-less and has a viewing window which I love. I can't help but also mention the doggie daycare play areas are huge and my little guys come home exercised and happy every time. The Barkers even has a outdoor doggie pool for the ones that like to swim. The boarding rates The facility is clean, well-maintained, and organized. II would recommend the Barkers Pet ResortCentral to anyone, anytime.

This place is one of the best ...

This place is one of the best dog kennels in Florida. I switched from Central Bark to private dog walker and then after my research and friend references I tried Barkers place. I had great experience boarding my dogs and the last day they got groomed. Let me tell you- they did 10 times better job than my mobile groomer. From this point on Barkers is my groomers.

One thing I didn't like was when I was checking in I was approached by this lady Carla who wanted to push her training on me. My dogs just need to walk nicer on the leash that's all. They are great dogs. She was pushy and even vulgar. The way she looked and talked to me made me think she is on something. No wonder she couldn't work there and got fired.

I'll be back for grooming sooner than you think. You guys do a great job overall and I'm glad I found you.

I just relocated from Tampa area and my new veterinarian recommended to try Barkers day care for my super active doodle puppy. I was so happy that I could try a doggie day care for 1 week absolutely free. My puppy loved it too and at the end of the day she was totally worn out. They also have great store for toys and food. I appreciate that the owner Viada helped me with choosing the right food since I can't get my old brand of food. I really think it's the best pet place for dogs. And after doing my homework with neighborhood dog sitters it sure is. I'm happy I found Barkers.

The Barkers has top notch service. It looks like an expensive place but really the prices are the same as everyone else in town. They are transparent about their business; I got a full tour of the facility before going for the dog boarding, now I go about once a month.

DO NOT RISK YOUR PET’S HEALT...

DO NOT RISK YOUR PET’S HEALTH!!! We brought our dog in for grooming and got him back with large patches of bright red, raw cuts and razor burns on several different parts of his body. The poor guy wouldn’t move from the couch for three days and his severe pain and discomfort was obvious. When we called Barker’s back to complain it took over 24 hours to get a call back from the manager who was extremely rude and told us that there was nothing we could do because we signed the groomer’s liability release and hung up on us! We called back and asked to speak to the owner and, even though she was at the store, we were told that she doesn’t take calls from customers! Save your pet from the agony that mine went through and DO NOT waste your time and money on a business with this poor of a standard of professionalism and decency.

claimed iconBusiness Response07/19/2012

I understand you being upset that your dog got red rash from razor blades. Unfortunately things like razor burns happen sometimes on dogs with very delicate skin and more often on white coat dogs. We offered you complimentary soothing bath and treatment the very next day and even free groom for the next time. But for some reason you insisted to get refund back without letting us even see your pet.

unlimited doggie day care is awesome!

I love that my dog can have unlimited access to daycare for one flat fee a month. It’s like a gym! He’s happy and I feel better when I’m at work knowing that he’s having fun.

I never saw anything this amazing :)

My poodle Teddy stayed at the Barkers for 10 days. I saw my Teddy playing in the yard and play rooms and his suite #21 is so cure. Teddy had his own plasma TV!

The most important thing to me was that the owner is always there and staff was amazing. I will use The Barkers Pet Resort every time I need to leave town. This is 5 star resort for dogs.
