This lovely store is an oasis

The Phoenix and the Dragon is an oasis in the desert.

That’s what my friends and I say about the store to each other. .

People feel good, and even abundant as they walk into the “Phoenix.” Soft music provides a background of harmony and relaxation. It’s a magical place of beautiful stones, lovely clothes, home objects and books. It’s a place that would feel welcoming to your grandmother or your child. A place where one can take their time and browse among all the treasures.

I often recommend the “Phoenix” to people who are pursuing a book about the Kabala, the Course of Miracles or anything of a spiritual nature. Going to the Phoenix can save person years of reading time because the book buyer knows her stuff. The store offers a nice range of high quality programs both free and for a fee. There are comfortable places to sit, browse and even an outdoor patio and art gallery.

Staff is friendly and always willing to help. The store is very convenient across from a super target and many restaurants. There is plenty of parking.

I have been coming to the Phoenix and Dragon for over ten years. I used to live ten miles away from the store, but periodically I would make sure I visited the store. I always left feeling happy.

I think, it’s a truly welcoming center for the whole community.

In grateful appreciation

beware rude staff

I was majorly disappointed. I don't know what has happened to this place. I had fond memories of the store and was very excited to stop by when I was in town. The store seems cluttered and unkempt with dust-balls everywhere. The poor cats seem horribly ill and there are actually puke spots and cat hair about the place! Also, something definitely seemed 'off' there. Most of the staff don't seem to be very knowledgeable about what they are selling and will rudely refer you to 'read some books' if you try to ask questions. It is very obvious that several of them do not want to be there and have contempt for the customers. I just happened to be around at closing and it seems if you are not promptly out the door at 8pm on the dot you get a nasty stare and a harsh reminder that 'WE ARE CLOSING NOW!!' I was appalled by this horrible experience and I will definitely not be back. I used to shop there only for the atmosphere as the place is not cheap, and that seems to be dying there sadly...I can only guess that they are already on the way out or don't care enough to try and make customers feel welcome, its a shame. May as well save some money and shop online...
